Conservation Projects

The Foundation will focus on the conservation of cultural, historic and artistic heritage of Istria and Croatia through the Conservation and Maintenance Didactic Workshop and Preventive Conservation Planning and Maintenance projects. We aim to share our knowledge of traditional and modern methods and conservation techniques.
The projects have been tailored to fit the needs of persons working in the field of conservation of cultural goods wishing to improve their skills and knowledge of materials used in the construction of historic and artistic buildings. pdf

Cultural Projects

The Foundation will establish a venue at its Vodnjan’s headquarters that will be used for hosting exhibitions of painting, sculpture and graphic art, literary events, poetry readings and film screenings and prepare the ground for collaboration between persons engaged in economic activities with those engaged in the field of arts.
We are planning to launch a pilot project aimed at staging a series of solo and group exhibitions of emerging artists.
We shall launch our activities in 2017 in collaboration with the European Council of Art Foundation (Concilio Europeo dell’Arte).
We will be reaching out to villages and towns in Istria and Croatia, as well as institutions, economic entities and private entrepreneurs wishing to join a network that will develop a series of long-term and enduring projects in the area of culture that will overcome seasonality and provide residents and visitors alike with opportunities to indulge in cultural events all year round.

All the activities mentioned above will take place within the Pilot project.
Pilot projects in the field of conservation and culture will be entirely privately and EU funded in compliance with guidelines and priorities defined by state, regional and local authorities.
Pilot Project

The project named PILOT PROJECT (P.P.) aimed at developing a series of projects which, once they have been completed in a place or town, can be reproduced and recreated depending on the specific requirements of other users.
The projects comprise the assessment of hospitality possibilities of the Vodnjan project Citta’ Antica-Old Town and possibilities of conversion of disused, abandoned and ruinous historic buildings into comfortable and elegant facilities in numerous little towns and villages based on the Tuscan model (Val d’Orcia).
The projects share the objective of creating the preconditions for the local economy of scale respectful of the territory and the natural rural environment without land take and uncontrolled urban development. Boosting local economy and job creation, opportunities of developing cultural and medical tourism which will in turn generate new business opportunities and wealth – showing respect for the territory and its residents, landscape and nature.
From spring 2017 throughout 2018, we will be looking for institutions, cultural entities, public and private economic entities in various towns in Istria and Croatia wishing to join the network and develop a long-term and enduring cultural project that will overcome seasonality and offer year-round cultural events to residents and visitors alike.
