IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE TEMPLARS

From the fourth crusade onwards, Istria was one of the departure points for the pilgrims coming from the east and travelled along Via Flavia on their way towards the Holy Land. Right from the foundation of the Order of Templars, these warrior monks were found in Istria, where they accompanied and protected the pilgrims passing through the area waiting to embark on the voyage to the Holy Land.
