Ground Floor

The Locanda San Martin is located in the center of Vodnjan, a stone’s throw from the historic Via Merceria. The locanda (tavern) and the entire district take their name from the Church of San Martin, the only church of the Inquisition in Istria. The building was saved from degradation by the Foundation’s Conservation Workshop that transformed it into a hostel to provide accommodation for its members and the participants in its various projects.

The ground floor comprises a kitchen with a window that looks out onto a suggestive water well, a lounge, and a pizzeria with a wood oven.

Terrace and olive grove

Behind the building, a terrace overlooks an olive grove cultivated by the Foundation to produce an exceptional extra virgin olive oil (distributed between members, friends and supporters). This huge green space is an authentic oasis of peace. The Locanda San Martin is the ideal place for business meetings, lunches and dinners, presentations and convivial occasions.
