An intervention on the important Baroque door of Negri Palace on Vodnjan’s Trg Statuta square started in 2018, the European Year of Cultural Heritage, after ten months of waiting for the conservators’ consent. The work was performed by the Didactic Workshop, the door was reinstalled in June 2019 and donated to the City of Vodnjan.
The Ars et Labor Foundation will continue its work and annually finance conservation works on the most important Istrian wooden entry doors and perform their historic and artistic evaluation.
The project KNOCK AND THE DOOR WILL BE OPENED TO YOU will take place thanks to private funding and good will of individual sponsors and conservation expert partners.
The Ars et Labor Foundation will open its own conservation workshop in Vodnjan at 13 Pian Street, by appointment, to all those wishing to make concrete proposals and collaborate. The interested school will be shown the works performed so far or the ongoing works at the Workshop. The visitors will have an opportunity of talking to restorers and discovering these little-known activities.
